I am new to finding my genealogy and ancestry, and have recently found out my paternal grandfather's relation to Gideon Nickerson and Sarah Bearse as well as my paternal grandmother's relation to Joshua Nickerson and Esther Ryder. I am very excited to embark on this journey.

I am a descendant of Gideon and Sarah, and once held a Metis card from Nova Scotia. Nice to read of so many more cousins. I have large family tree on ancestry.com and did a DNA test. It did show that I have native american heritage. Love this site.
I am very excited that I have been able to trace my family tree back Sarah Bearse and Gideon Nickerson. I also have found quite a few cousins through DNA connections.
I'm so excited! I just discovered my direct lineage from Pierre LeJeune dit Briard (1628-1661). I descend directly from two of his children, Pierre Jr. and Jeanne whose lines reconnect at Radegonde Le Jeune ( 1770-1871), my 5th great grandmother.
Thank you for this site and information. Sadly this part of our family was kept secret or even lost due to so many factors. I would love to learn more about where I come from and who my ancestors are. This I want to proudly pass on to my children and future generations.

Thanks so much for all the wonderful information. I had a Metes card years ago but let it lapse and would like to renew it sometime soon. I did a DNA test and do have the Native American gene, even though I am generations away from Gideon Nickerson. Will contact this site soon. Again, thank you.
I first got interested in the Wampanoag via the virtual world. A Wampanoag native is promoting the tribe by building and recreating what life must have been like in the late 1600. He has done such a great job of generating interest that I have blogged Spirt Nation in my virtual blog http://virtualluna.blogspot.ca/ and am researching for more info. to help him promote and bring more people on board to what i think is a wonderful project. I am a Canadian, he is American, I was pleased to find and read about the Nova Scotia Wampanoag. I wish I had known this when I lived in Cape Breton, I would have made the trip to visit in person. I would like to know more? Can someone contact me please.
like the sight, will be in contact

Found your website thanks to Rick Mader and his Cape Sable Island WampanoAg page on Facebook. Dad was from CSI. I will be sending in my 4 lines to Gideon and Sara, and a line from Joshua and Esther. Thanks!
Thanks for posting updates for us who are living outside the Barrington area. I am continually learning about my heritage & descendants. There are still some restoration that hasn't been addressed yet, to honor our descendants.
